This week in class, we were tasked with creating a Screencastify of the website, Epic! books. Coming into this class, I had no idea what screencastify was!! After class instruction, I now know that screencastify can be a really helpful tool, especially as an educator. Having a voice-over for text or a website can make information easier to understand and very helpful for visual learners. When playing around with this task, it brought me back to my last year of high school (2020). Online learning isn’t easy for everyone, and in 2020 was an adjustment we all had to make. Having an explanation from your instructor over the instructions can make it feel like your instructor is really there and teaching you all the steps as you navigate at the same time.
Here is an example of me taking viewers on a virtual tour of the Epic! books website!!
Epic! books, is a wonderful resource used for reading in school or at home. When signing up, you can customize your results if you’re an educator, parent or student. Epic!, have audio books, books and educational videos. When looking for something specific, you can narrow down your search through their provided search bar.
This assignment was really fun!! Although I was slightly nervous to hear myself speak, it turned out ok!! I look forward to using screencastify in my future as an educator!!
